Waite's Cleaners is a trusted, family-run dry cleaner with three locations across Mobile and Baldwin County and a 4.6-star reputation earned over 259 Google reviews. What they did not have was a website built to win local search. PG&J rebuilt it from the ground up around a per-location architecture — and today the site ranks at the top of Google for the searches that bring in customers, from broad "dry cleaners near me" intent to the high-value specialty work most listings never surface for.

The client

Waite's Cleaners has been a Gulf Coast institution for years, with three storefronts — in Mobile, Saraland, and Fairhope — and a loyal customer base that shows up in the reviews: 4.6 stars across 259 of them at the time of the rebuild. The reputation was rock solid. The problem was that almost none of that trust was reaching new customers through search.

The challenge

Their previous website was built on a template platform that treated the business as a single entity. Three distinct locations, each competing in its own local market, were folded into one generic "locations" page. To Google, that is a weak signal: there was no dedicated, authoritative page for a searcher in Fairhope looking for a dry cleaner, and none for Saraland, and none for Mobile. The site also carried inconsistent business details and no structured data, so search engines could not confidently connect each storefront to its real address, hours, and reviews.

The net effect: a beloved local business that was effectively invisible in the exact "dry cleaner near me" searches its future customers were typing every day.

What we did

We rebuilt the site from scratch on a foundation designed for local search, then handled a clean migration so none of the existing trust was lost.

1. A page for every market

The core move was architectural. Instead of one lumped-together locations page, each storefront got its own dedicated, indexable page — Mobile, Saraland, and Fairhope — written to target that specific city's search intent. Now when someone searches for a dry cleaner in Fairhope, there is a real page purpose-built to answer that query.

2. Structured data and photo-verified accuracy

Every location page carries LocalBusiness structured data so Google can read the exact name, address, phone, and hours for each storefront. We did not guess at the details — hours were verified against photographs of the actual door signage at each location, and the real, current star ratings for each store were surfaced on the site. Accurate, machine-readable business data is one of the strongest and most overlooked local ranking signals.

3. Consistent details everywhere

We aligned the business name, address, and phone across the website and the Google Business Profile for each location. Consistency across these sources removes ambiguity for Google and directly strengthens local prominence.

4. Real reviews, front and center

That hard-earned 4.6-star reputation was pulled out of hiding and surfaced across the site, giving both customers and search engines an immediate, credible trust signal.

5. A migration that kept every ounce of equity

Relaunching a website is where local businesses often quietly lose their rankings. We mapped every old URL to its new home with permanent 301 redirects, enforced a single canonical version of the site (HTTPS, one hostname), and submitted a fresh sitemap to Google Search Console on cutover day. No broken links, no lost history, no ranking dip — just a clean handoff to a stronger foundation.

The results

Since the August 2026 relaunch, Waite's Cleaners ranks at the very top of Google across its markets. A representative sample of the site's current average positions, straight from Google Search Console:

Two patterns matter here. First, the site now owns high-margin specialty searches — wedding gown preservation, oriental rug cleaning, comforter cleaning — ranking #1 for the exact services a generic listing never shows up for. Second, for the flagship category terms with real local volume — "dry cleaners mobile al" alone was shown more than 200 times — the site sits in the top two results, competing at the front of the markets it serves. And it appears for 578 distinct searches in all, a footprint that simply did not exist before the rebuild.

Rankings you own vs. clicks you rent

Every one of these positions is organic. To sit at the top of these same searches through Google Ads, Waite's would pay for each click — and keep paying, every month, for as long as the ads run. The rankings we built keep bringing in those same customers with no per-click bill, and they compound over time instead of disappearing the moment an ad budget stops.

Why it worked

None of this is a trick. It is the fundamentals done properly: give each local market its own well-structured page, feed search engines accurate and consistent business data, surface genuine trust signals, and never spill equity during a rebuild. For a multi-location service business, a per-location architecture is not a nice-to-have — it is the difference between competing in one market and competing in all of them at once.
